What does The Traveling Treasurer do?
The Traveling Treasurer offers the services of an experienced treasurer and administrator on a part-time or as-needed basis, to start-up companies and those entering a new stage of growth.

What kind of services?
Employee benefits administration, for example. Do you subscribe to the same medical plan year after year because you don’t have time to research and evaluate alternatives? Perhaps you want to start a new benefit, or discontinue one that has been in place for a while, but have no established method of employee communication. The Traveling Treasurer can help you evaluate your current programs, research options and related costs, guide a decision, and present the results to your employees in person or via written announcement.

Financial and reporting services, too. Are you invoicing as promptly as you should? Collecting your receivables on time? Managing your cash flow? Generating financial statements and evaluating them on a regular basis? Formulating a business plan, and working it throughout the year? The systems and controls that you use when you start a business are not always appropriate as you continue to grow. And decisions about the direction of your growth require that your financial information be timely and accurate and that your goals be well-defined. The Traveling Treasurer can strengthen your company in all of these areas.

So you provide human resource and accounting services?
And more. We also offer contract administration services. Suppose, after several years of effort on your part, you finally crack a major account. The contract or purchase order arrives at your office – with a mini-encyclopedia of contract requirements: when and how invoices must be presented; what kind of documentation and progress reports are required while the contract is in process; definitions of the scope of work and what each party is responsible for. This is how your new client will judge your performance. Do you have time to study it? To create, communicate and implement new procedures to satisfy the demands of the client? Most entrepreneurs are too busy to delve into these details; The Traveling Treasurer can help.

I already have an accountant; why do I need you?
The Traveling Treasurer does not take the place of your public accounting firm. We work with the firm to be sure that any new procedures are acceptable to them, compatible with their systems, and consistent with their perception of the direction of your growth.

You’ve organized my office. Everything is running smoothly; I don’t think I need you any more. Then what?
Then we’ve accomplished our objective! We can either maintain all of that organization for you on a part-time basis, adjusting our time commitment as needed, or we can help you find and train an employee to do so. We’ll be available if you need us again as your success continues!
